
Dr. Sam Obamiyi
He attended Eastman Institute for Oral Health, University of Rochester, NY, USA where he completed a residency training in Orofacial Pain and Temporo Mandibular Joint Disorders (TMJ), followed by a second residency in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He also completed a Master of Science degree in Health Professions Education from the University of Rochester.
While at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, he was the recipient of multiple awards including Strong Star Award for Patient Care and the Basil Bibby Award for Research. He has presented several posters, table clinics and oral presentations at meetings of the American Association of Orthodontics, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Association for Dental Research and Brewer Prosthodontics Conference. He has co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles.
Dr. Sam is an avid sports fun, he particularly loves watching and playing soccer. He enjoys cheering for the Calgary Flames. He is married to his lovely wife, Bimbola and they have one daughter, Funlola. They love to get away into the Rockies at Banff very frequently. Sam has extensive management experience having managed a dental insurance company in Nigeria. He currently serves as CEO and Business Manager at The Orthodontic Centre at Northland.

Dr. Barry Hoffman
Dr. Barry Hoffman joins The Orthodontic Centre at Northland with a 42 year history of providing orthodontic care to patients in Calgary. Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Ron Wolk established Hoffman Wolk Orthodontics in 1978. With the opening of The Orthodontic Centre at Northland, Dr. Hoffman hopes to continue his tradition of quality orthodontic service and will strive to mentor orthodontists and the surrounding quality team at the facility.
Dr. Hoffman’s background includes growing up in Detroit, Michigan, attendance at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and University of Minnesota Orthodontic Program. His wife, Linda, and Barry moved to Calgary in 1977. Linda and Barry have two sons Ryan and Adam. Adam is married to Alexandra, and they now have three girls that call Dr. Hoffman “Papa Bear”!
Dr. Hoffman’s interests have evolved as is typical of most active “mature” Calgarians. Skiing, Hiking, Hockey, and Baseball has progressed to more moderate activities including his latest interest; playing the Banjo! Kayaking in the summer months is a current favorite.
Linda and Barry have travelled the world extensively. Careful to not get him started on their adventures. It really gets him behind in the schedule!
