Causes of TMJ disorder

  • Stress and muscle tension
  • Nervous habits such as biting nails, clenching teeth or grinding teeth

  • Dislocation of the joint
  • Arthritis
  • Connective tissue diseases that affect your temporomandibular joint

Symptoms of TMJ

TMJ disorder can impact patients differently. The common symptoms you might experience include:

  • Jaw pain or stiffness
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Pain while chewing
  • Popping, clicking or grating jaw noises
  • Pain pressure or ringing in ears  
  • Lock jaw
  • Pain in neck and shoulders
  • Sleep Apnea

How do you treat TMJ?
